yep, putting a new D&D character up. I recently got into a new gaming group and of course had to come up with a new character for the new campaign. So here he is, Elric Forard, a human ranger.

Elric’s ancestor was a quasi famous slayer of felbeast (demons/devils, etc) but he eventually came across a devil that was far out of his league. They fought and sadly the devil was victorious, but he did not kill Elric’s ancestor. Instead he put a curse on him and every male of his bloodline. They would bare this mark on their chest that would kill them on their 25th year of life and keep their soul from entering the afterlife. This curse could be broken though in one of two ways. The first is to kill the devil that created the curse. The second way is to kill devils; the more devils killed, or the higher level the demon slain, the more the mark decreases until it eventually disappears.

Elric grew up with this knowledge, which of course was a drain on him, both physically and mentally. While a kind, good person at heart, he tends to be withdrawn from others and is very slow to trust others, especially with knowledge of his curse. While he does stride to help others, he prefers to do so from the shadows.

He did manage to fall in love though and eventually married his lover Lillandra. Together they had a son Joffrey.

This is why Elric became an adventurer, so that he could lift the curse on his family and give his son a future. Although, he also wishes to amass enough money so that they will be well cared for should he fail in his quest to lift the curse.

Had a lot of inspiration for this character. His back story is loosely based off one of the characters that appeared in the anime Mushi shi. His armor is kinda based off the armor of the SOLDIER troopers featured in Final Fantasy VII and its spin-offs. Used some pics from the game as well as some of the character drawings from the D&D player's handbook as references.
